Chefs from the Fiesta Hotel Group in Ibiza are benefiting from the vast bank of culinary knowledge

Chefs from the Fiesta Hotel Group in Ibiza are benefiting from the vast bank of culinary knowledge amassed by one of Spain's most famous and highly regarded chefs, Juan Mari Arzak.

Arzak is boss of the 3 Michelin Star restaurant bearing his name and ranked 8th in the entire world in San Sebastian in Spain's gourmet capital, the Basque country. If any further proof was required about how good he is then how's this – he has his own laboratory where chefs work on exquisite culinary creations.

mikel sorazuOne of his right hand men, Mikel Sorazu, who has worked in some of Spain's top restaurants, is currently visiting Ibiza and showing Fiesta's top kitchenistas some of Arzak's most famous recipes, both old and new, as well as some of the tricks of the trade.

Arzak himself is an Ibiza aficionado and a good friend of the Matutes family, who own the Fiesta group, currently involved in schemes to update and modernise Hotels like Ushuaia and Cala Llonga, who suggested that his expertise could be used throughout the hotels.

Amongst the dishes demonstrated to the fiesta chefs were crayfish on maize, tuna flakes and baby mallard, French toast with mango salsa wrapped in tiger nuts and chocolate burger with orange vinaigrette.

It's now up to the Fiesta management to decide whether these dishes will appear on the dinner choice of guests in their hotels. I vote yes, do you?
