Ibiza Beach of the Week: Cala d'Hort

Beauty and magic - Cala d'Hort in a nutshell. Add to that a delicious paella, a good wine and you have a day in paradise.

Cala d'Hort is a beautiful, arc-shaped sandy cove just a ten minute drive from San Jose on the south-west coast of Ibiza.

Boasting fantastic views of the mysterious islands of Es Vedra and Es Vedranell, which rise magnificently out of the sea just a few hundred metres from the shore, it is little wonder that Cala d'Hort is one of Ibiza's most popular beaches.

The mix of sand and pebble beach with its bright crystalline waters (ideal for swimming and snorkelling) is protected by towering cliffs that surround the bay…the perfect place to enjoy spectacular panoramic views, and unforgettable sunsets.

Only accessible by car, Cala d'Hort is situated at the bottom of a steep road, and with limited parking, it is best to arrive early so as to avoid having to park on the road and contend with a long walk back to your car after a hard day's sunbathing!

One of Ibiza's Blue Flag beaches, you will find here the usual mix of sun-loungers and parasols available to hire, there is access for the disabled and lifeguards are on duty. In the peak season, a boutique selling designer beachwear is also open.

For the food-lovers amongst you, Cala d'Hort has three excellent beach restaurants, particularly renowned for delicacies such as Peix Bullit (a delicious fresh fish dish) and Paella.

So, for a very laid-back beach experience, surrounded by the flora and fauna of this beautiful nature reserve, a visit to Cala d'Hort whilst holidaying on Ibiza is a must…and don't forget to take in a magical sunset while you are there.

Recommended Locally.

We are pleased to recommend two villas in the Cala d'Hort vicinity for that truly special holiday.
