Snoop Dogg at Privilege Live Opening

So, Snoop D.O. double G, the motherf**king P.I.M.P. is back on the island where supposedly dance music is the dominant force...

.....Well, of course it is, but when a club with a capacity of 10,000 is near enough full of guys and girls going crazy and getting their swagger on to one of the superstars of Hip Hop, you know Ibiza is moving increasingly towards musical diversity.

Really, there would be no way better to review his show at Privilege on Sunday 17th July than to quote the man himself as he neared the end of the gig; he “made us dance, clap, rave, rap and sweat.” Topping it all off with making us all ‘Jump Around' as he dropped the track by House Of Pain.

I, like many others I suspect, were expecting a lot more of his newer material, and crucially a lot less of the classic tracks we all love. But this show was really about a history lesson in Snoop's life in Hip Hop, all the favourites were there. We were once again (first time at MTV Ibiza) treated to a special appearance by the legend that is Warren G as he performed the classic record ‘Regulate”. Suffice to say it was moments like this that made listening to his, how shall we say, less enjoyable new material, more than worth it, leaving Snoop to point out that he'll be back to island anytime we want him. “Take a good look at this face…” he said, “coz' it ain't the last time you'll see it”.

Someone's caught the Ibiza bug then. Snoooooooop!
