Review: Luciano at Cafe Mambo

Most evenings the sunset strip sees some of the worlds most renowned DJ’s perform a free set at Café Mambo. Last Sunday saw Luciano take to the decks before going on to play Cadenza at Pacha.

Chilling out on the rocks by Mambo can be a romantic evening, intimate party or somewhere to go for a relaxed atmosphere. With one of the world's best sunsets accompanying the techno sounds of Luciano both the rocky beach and the café itself were buzzing with Ibiza's clubbing revellers.

Beginning his gig at 9.30pm, the Vagabondos main man went on to smash out an exciting hour long set which seemed to please everybody from the VIP section to the workers enjoying crates of beer on the shoreline.

Playing a selection of what seemed like new material he surprised even the maddest Luciano followers, banging out remixes such as You Sure Make Me Feel Like Loving You, as well as a Depeche Mode classic Enjoy the Silence, he also managed to entertain the less educated house fans and in a true Luciano manner with a fag hanging out his mouth he gave a Vagabundos style set to remember.

The Swiss DJ showed his cultural side by playing groovy tech beats that suited Ibiza's vibe and as somewhat of a tradition a flame swallowing señorita set fire to a Vagabondos at Pacha sign which made the crowd erupt with cheers and applause… a perfect end to an impressive set.
