Ibiza Spotlight clubbing internship 2017

Saddle up for the summer of your life

Ibiza Spotlight has now been the leading portal for all things Ibiza since we went online back in 1999, and for many years before that as one of the island's first ever printed guides.

Today, we have a team of over 20 people working with us, whose sole aim is to make sure that millions of island visitors get to squeeze every last drop out of their stay on the White Isle.

As the company grows, so does our team along with it, and we're now beginning the hunt for new members to join our editorial staff next summer.

Ibiza Spotlight could be your all-important first or next step in becoming an important part of the dance music industry, and the Ibiza community as a whole. If you're looking for that step, read on.

Clubbing Internship Summer 2017
20-30 hours pw Flexitime

For this year's programme we're looking for a number of interns to work with us across the main months of the tourist season, typically from April to October, although dates are flexible for the right candidate.

The internship position encompasses all elements of working with and supporting the business, however its main focus is within editorial, particularly the clubbing team.

In 2017 we'll have the following positions available:

Photographer / videographer

Tasks will include:

- Researching and writing editorial copy for news, features, opinion articles, event and music reviews.

- Regularly attending parties across the island for the purpose of review, feature or interview.

- Supporting content by producing photographic and video content.

- Liaising with industry figures, from promoters and PRs, to artists.

- Interacting with and understanding the dance music community.

- Improving your Ibiza knowledge and using this to guide others.

- Various administrative tasks to support editorial such as media sourcing, fact checking, transcribing and social media support.

Successful candidates will have excellent experience in either writing, photography or videography (or all three if you're a super-candidate), an understanding of the Ibiza scene and dance music, an excellent grasp of spelling, grammar and punctuation and a drive to produce creative, unique editorial content.

Perks / benefits

- One-on-one mentoring and teaching - everything we know, we want to pass on to you. We will work with you individually to greatly improve your skills in all the tasks outlined above.

- Free guestlist/passes for venues – within reason, we'll sort you out!

- Exposure – have your work published on Ibiza's biggest website; several million people will see the fruits of your labour over the summer.

- Networking opportunities – this is the first step to working in Ibiza, journalism or the music business as a whole. Spotlight and Ibiza provide the connections you need to network on an international level.

- The summer of your life – a whole summer of the best music, people, parties and beaches.
