Tunes of the month | March

Our favourite tracks from February.

Technically, we're not quite there yet, but we'd be forgiven for feeling that spring has sprung.

In the last month, but in particular last week, we dumped a tonne of Ibiza 2022 news. Catch up here if you're behind on any announcements.

At the same time, events in eastern Europe cast a shadow over everything, from both a political and humanitarian viewpoint. We stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people at this troubling time and hope for a speedy resolution.

Yet again, music provides some much-needed escapism from reality.

We're back with another ten tracks to distract you. This month we feature new music from Sven Väth, Jess Bays, Meg Ward and more.

Meg Ward | Last All Night | Needwant | 18 February

Who's got the stamina to Last All Night? Tyneside-based rising star Meg Ward kicks us off this week. Her track combines a driving beat, wailing synths and a catchy vocal hook, guaranteed to fill your tank from empty to full. That should get you out of bed in the morning. BUY HERE

Drega feat Maline Aura | Vela | Sondela Recordings | 18 February

We've been looking for an excuse to feature Sondela for a while now and finally an opportunity presented itself. Positioning itself as "where Afro meet Tech", the burgeoning label and party series is spearheaded by Sef Kombo, Kitty Amor and Simon Dunmore's son, Louie.

The latest offering comes courtesy of South African producer Drega and vocalist Maline Aura. BUY HERE

Mason Maynard feat Hadiya George | Ring Of Fire | Hot Creations | 11 February

Warming strings, glistening chords and Hadiya George's charmful vocal manifest a soothing sunset on Mason Maynard's Ring Of Fire. The track is one of a five track EP, as the Manchester producer returns to Hot Creations. BUY HERE

Demuir | Rizin' | Snatch! Records | 10 February

RIVA STARR signed Rizin' to Snatch! Records because it reminded him of early Jesse Rose, Claude von Stroke and his own forays into the world of Jackin' House. Demuir strikes the right chord on a track that feels totally built for summer. BUY HERE

Sven Väth | Mystic Voices | Cocoon Recordings | 4 February

Just before he dropped his album, Sven Väth teased fans with a pair of tracks taken from the LP. Mystic Voices is a proper Cocoon peak-time weapon that has been enjoying lots of love during Sven's recent sets. BUY HERE

Sven's long-awaited Catharsis is our February album of the month.

Jess Bays feat Poppy Baskcomb | Temptation | Good Company | 25 February

February has been quite the month for Jess Bays. Capital Dance's Sunday afternoon hostess was first unveiled as Cuckoo Land's new 2022 resident. If that wasn't enough, she ended the month dropping her new track with Poppy Baskcomb. Can you hear her influences?

Stephan Bodzin | Collider (Anfisa Letyago Remix) | Herzblut Recordings | 25 February

Four months on from the release of Boavista, and Stephan Bodzin comes back around with an extensive remix package. The list of remixers is impressive to say the least. Amongst others, Solomun, Adriatique and Mind Against all chip-in with new versions.

Our pick is Anfisa Letyago's take on Collider. BUY HERE

You can catch Anfisa Letyago at Hï Ibiza's 2022 Opening Party, Better Together.

Javi Bora & Richard Uhl | Mondays In Ses Salines | Knee Deep In Sound | 4 February

Lazy Monday afternoon's spent at Las Salinas, followed by a stroll to DC10 to see the night out at Circoloco - we can hardly think of anything better. That sense of excitement is exactly what Javi Bora and Richard Uhl set out to recreate on Mondays In Ses Salines. BUY HERE

Savage & SHē, Made By Pete | Walls Of Zion | Crosstown Rebels | 11 February

Hybrid live act Savage & SHē have entertained us plenty of times at Zoo Project. Here, the unique performers link up with Made By Pete for the rousing Walls Of Zion on Crosstown Rebels. Percussion reverberates and hats shimmer, as Sheena's resonating vocal dips in-and-out.

Zemyu feat Holly Bannis | Lost In Music | Zemyu | 25 February

Seeing as we're celebrating the return of Glitterbox, we end of a new cover of a Disco classic. Sister Sledge's iconic original is a firm party favourite. This modern take by Zemyu adds a glossy finish to a timeless Disco anthem. BUY HERE

Those in the UK can watch Holly Bannis compete on ITV's new talent sensation Starstruck.

We'll be back next month with another helping of hot tunes.
