Ways to recover the day after those wild late nights out

Because after the party we all need a little relaxation and revitalisation.

Ibiza is far more than a destination designed to extinguish the needs of music heads. There's nothing new to be found in that basic line of acknowledgement; it's a fact.

The past two seasons have seen a prominent leap in the number of holidaymakers wanting something beyond - or sometimes as well as - the clubs. These visitors want more relaxing pursuits, wellness type activities like spa treatments or massage; for sure they want great food and often they are coming with newly adorned with children.

There are so many different ways to enjoy this island, ways in which you can relax, explore, rejuvenate, immerse yourselves in Balearic culture - and be self-indulgent. Think cleanse-ready juice bars, sun-drenched beach beds, fresh cocktails, matchless cliffside views over the Med, plush spas, infinity pools, exotic massages and healing sessions and much more.

As we all know, the summer season is full of those infamous parties, so if clubbing is a potent source of pleasure for you, do it and go in hard. But don't lose sight of making sure that your daytime hours are equally fulfilling; a little breather to refuel could be what you need to make it to closing fiesta numero dos.

We're probably talking to some who've already converted to the occasional daytime shift. For those that haven't or for those that need more of this kind of information, this is a guide for every human set to descend on La Isla who wants a bit more tranquillity.

Relax and be renewed in a world-class spa

Our first entry is a utopia in spa form. Offering the perfect place to take a breather and unwind, Zentropia occupies the plush five-star Grand Palladium Palace Resort Ibiza in Playa d'en Bossa.

Outside, a serene private swimming pool features a variety of water pressure jets, waterfalls and ergonomic aqua beds immersed in the cool, blue water. Inside, you'll find more serenity with a climate-controlled swimming pool with a spa circuit including sauna, Turkish bath, toning pools, bubble beds, sensory showers and more.

Zentropia Spa Ibiza also offers all kinds of wellness treatment with things like detoxing body scrubs and peels to rejuvenating or purifying facials - your total relaxation and pampering is guaranteed.

La Posidonia

A place where you can almost feel reborn. Set within the Hacienda Na Xamena, it is located on Ibiza's unspoiled northern coast. It is the ultimate escape. Many a celebrity has been here, most likely drawn by the feeling of sheer seclusion and its amazing sea and sunset views from a dramatic cliff top location.

Book an experience at the Cascadas Suspendidas which is an outdoor treatment consisting of eight different pools. This and a wealth of wellness treatments to bring you back to life. If your budget permits, you've got to go for a full day here. Consider it mandatory.

Atzaró Spa

Look in any direction on the island and you'll see rolling green hills before you. It's a sight we probably take for granted, and it's one that invites us to explore nature. You can do just that without the physical exertion at Atzaró, a century-old orange farm nestled in the heart of the island.

From massages, facials and peels, to manicures and pedicures and honed-to-perfection spa rituals, you should be walking out of here literally glowing. After your treatment, relax and soak up the sun, chill out in a shaded cabana, nibble on healthy snacks and meals from its restaurant, La Veranda and sip fresh juice and herbal tea from the Bubbles Bar.

Juice your way back to life

Passion Café

Since launch in 2002, there are now branches of Passion across the island, including San Jose, Marina Botafoch, Santa Eulalia and the original in Playa d'en Bossa.

Juices, smoothies, protein shakes, superfood shakes and elixirs – these are the liquid goodies that Lana considers her pride and joy. Liquid refuels aside, the food here is the kind of stuff that proves healthy need not be dull. Its focus is on vegan, vegetarian, macrobiotic and raw cuisine.

Passion Café puts itself out there as your home for health and happiness. Make sure you pop in to get a serving of both.

Wild Beets

Slap bang in the middle of the island, Wild Beets in Santa Gertrudis is a destination worth making the journey for if you're inhabiting the shores of Ibiza.

As with Passion Café, Wild Beets is also recommended for delicious, healthy bites as it has a reputation for serving the most creative and delicious raw food on the island.

You can go in and have a chat with staff and find out the what cleanses they have or get a bespoke cleanse designed just for you. Very special, indeed.

Skinny Kitchen

Here's an entry for the San Antonio troops. This fabulous place now operates out of two sites, one in the West End and one in the San Antonio Marina. As with most success stories, Skinny Kitchen took off because it found a niche in the market. Back in 2014 there were few healthy food hangouts and for that reason, three friends set themselves on a mission to administer an injection of clean, healthy living.

If you've woken up faced with the pressure of needing to be on top form again, get yourself in here for the detoxifying Ultimate Detox smoothie, the energy-releasing Acai Energy or the Manga Maca to boost your libido.

Needing an extra boost and cleanse? The Black Lemonade is just the thing: activated charcoal is blended with fresh lemon, honey and lavender to redress those imbalances.

Bask in a beach club

Amante Beach Club

Nestled next to Cala Llonga on a dramatic cliff overlooking the stunning Sol d'en Serra bay, Amante is a relaxed beach club in the daytime and a fine dining restaurant offering a delectable selection of Mediterranean dishes in the evening.

It is also set in one of the most beautiful coves on the east coast of Ibiza. Surrounded by dramatic rocks and lush greenery, Amante is the very definition of idyllic and that makes it a prime spot for indulgent daytime lunches. Stretch out on the luxurious day beds, relish in the stunning views and quench your thirsts with refreshing cocktails.

El Chiringuito, Cala Gracioneta

Situated far enough outside of San Antonio to keep the masses away, but near enough to walk, your reward is El Chiringuito on Cala Gracioneta. You'll find a large eating area, small terraces for sipping sangria and four-poster beds taking up their spots on this intimate beach.

Your taste buds will be in for a sumptuous treat with fresh seafood and Mediterranean fusion cuisine. The paella is reputed to be one of the best on the island, so you've got to consider a visit.

Jockey Club

Jockey Club on Las Salinas beach lays out the beach beds from early morning for the arrival of your perky butts, and should you need a natural boost, you'll find sliced fresh fruit dishes, milkshakes, sorbets and 100% natural juices at the Fruit Bar.

Great breakfasts are served and you can scan the menu for a lunch or dinner pick too. You've got meat, fish, pasta, salads and pizza and an excellent selection of Spanish wines.
Visit this family-run place if only for the surrounding nature reserve where you'll find sand dunes, pine forests and those spectacular salt flats. It might also be an idea to take a leisurely stroll along Las Salinas until you spot the old pirate watchtower.

And if you feel a little active

Ibiza Food Tours

Ibiza is one for the foodies among you, with its own local dishes as well as those of mainland Spain as part of its more recent food culture.

These tours take you on special haunts that only locals know. Spend time learning about Ibizan food and drink, visit some great little eating places, see the freshness on display at the market and dive into some cool food shops.

From tasty tapas and deeply flavoured jamon, local pastries to Ibiza's famous Hierbas liqueur and wines, you'll ignite your taste buds with a host of amazing flavours.

There are three different tours to opt for, from morning excursions to afternoon trips. Private tours can also be arranged too.
