Places to stay in Ibiza's North

Away from it all.

Beyond the billboards and farther North, you'll see a proper picture postcard Ibiza with lush green fields, lots of trees and a quiet you might find difficult to believe on the “party isle”. Anyone, who knows the island, knows that there is lots of beautiful countryside and places on it that are a peaceful foil to the spirited and youthful in say, San Antonio.

There are lots of small villages and quaint places in between the main hubs, but when you head north and indeed proper North, you will get to a place that is more removed from the southern and western bits. From the family resort idyll that is Portinatx to the pretty Puerto de San Miguel you will see a more relaxed pace of life that is suited to spending quality time with friends, lovers and family. Puerto de San Miguel is the more quieter of the two, but it does have Ibiza's best fish restaurant (allegedly) and it's stunningly pretty. Portinatx has a decent nightlife, with music and theme bars attracting a good nightly crowd and if that's not enough, there are boats to San An and buses to Ibiza.

There is a range of accommodation here. In Portinatx you will get a lot of hotel and apartment deals aimed at families with all-inclusive hotels and self-catering. The three fine white-sanded beaches here all offer activities and are safe for children, plus there are beautiful panoramic views of the bay up top. There are a good number of hotels and apartments next to the beach of Puerto de San Miguel which itself is backed by pine-covered cliffs and from where you will get superb sea views. This being Ibiza, there are higher-end and specialist places to stay, so we've included a couple of those.

So, read on for our hotels and apartments selection or for more choices, take a look at our dedicated pages.
