Various peoples have left their mark on Ibizan culture over the centuries, leaving behind truly ancient folklore. The 'ball pagès' (country dance) is a traditional fertility dance in which a man flirts with a woman to the rhythm of castanets. The dancers are dressed in traditional costumes and wear elaborate jewellery.
