Hot new tracks for July 2018

A selection of tracks released in June across all genres for your listening pleasure.

Are we in July already? Crazy. Where does time go? We're not ones to wish the time away - quite the opposite. Although when it's filled with amazing music, it does tend to make the days and nights go quicker, both in the office and on the dance floor.

Fortunately, we still have a few opening parties before we hit peak season. On the music front, June produced some more memorable releases. Here are a few of our staff highlights.

A bumper edition this month, June's top releases bring an overwhelming number of good releases. We struggled to whittle it down to the usual ten, but here we go. Enjoy the ride.

Enrico Sangiuliano | Cosmic Ratio | Drumcode | 1 June

We could have included any number of monster tracks from his Biomorph concept album – including the Carl Cox-approved Symbiosis. This one though screams Amnesia's Club room loud enough to get the nod. Triggering hands held so high they can reach the stars, Sangiuliano has done it again with this intergalactic weapon.

Cristoph | Voice Of Silence | Pryda Presents | 8 June

Once again a part of the roster for Tuesdays at in 2018, Cristoph is back weekly alongside Eric Prydz. He produced the debut Pryda Presents release last summer, and he returns for his second outing ahead of this year's residency.

The production tour de force has been at it again in the studio. The B-side Vanquish treads similar territory to Alone. Both cuts are great, but Voice Of Silence just edges it for us. This one will surely become a Tuesday night anthem by the end of summer.

Robin Schulz feat. Piso 21 | Oh Child | WM Germany | 22 June

It was only a matter of time before electronic music's super-producers turned their hand to reggaeton, and now Robin Schulz has done exactly that with this hook up with Piso 21. Latin vocals and EDM sensibilities, this one has hit written all over it.

Ramin Rezaie | Intrinsic | Solid Grooves | 8 June

The Groovers' release of their Ibiza Sampler has carefully coincided with the start of their 2018 campaign. With the label and party series launching an all-out assault at Vista Club, is there a new Sunday sermon on the island?

We could've picked any one of the tech bangers found within, but this one is probably our pick of the bunch. Sure to get lots of plays from PAWSA, Bibi, Cruz & co. As the lyrics say, “Who gives a F@&%?” Not them. Ramin played Solid Grooves early this month.

Helena Hauff | Qualm | Ninja Tunes | 19 June

Whilst the resurgence of electro hasn't materialised in a dedicated night on the island, there's no doubt that it has a stronger footing here than it has had in years. One proponent of this is Hamburg queen Helena Hauff.

This is the title-track to her forthcoming album on Ninja Tunes. It could be the intro of choice for Maceo Plex. Then again, with Helena appearing at Afterlife and Pyramid, we could well be hearing her play this one herself.

Mark Knight & Shovell | Selecao | Toolroom | 22 June

Landing in a World Cup year, this track conjures up montages of skilful Brazilians running rings around their opponents. That sambo influence lends itself well to the vibrant carnival scenes at a mobbed out elrow.

Even the artwork has generously awarded itself five stars, though it's hard to argue otherwise. England might not win the World Cup this year, but with this feel-good house number, everybody is a winner on Ibiza's dance floors.

Nic Fanciulli | After Time (Adana Twins Remix) | Saved Records | 22 June

The Adana Twins have taken a cut from Nic Fanciulli's 2017 Heart album and turned it into a dance floor focused, dark and brooding deep house number. This one was already doing the damage when they played alongside Solomun +1 earlier this season. Expect to hear it at ANTS as well this summer.

SEFF | Needle To the Groove (James Solace Remix) | Hot Trax | 15 June

SEFF has been quietly making a name for himself in underground circles, both under this alias and his new Mirrors Numbers guise. Already familiar to Hot Creations, he finds himself on sub-label Hot Trax with this latest release.

We love both versions; however, the remix is featured here as it has that Balearic influence flowing through it - though do make sure you check-out the original, too. It gets the Jamie Jones seal of approval, so Paradise incoming.

Matador | Itajai | Rukus | 8 June

Matador returns to his own impeccable Rukus imprint with another extended release. We can imagine this one melting minds on the dance floor a lot this summer. Catch him playing live at DC10, Privilege and Pacha this summer.

Charlotte de Witte | The Healer | novamute | 22 June

This is the lead track from an exceptional four-tracker. Belgium's rising techno star has a penchant for the acid and distorted vocals, and you'll find both those things across this EP.

Charlotte has already made her mark felt on Ibiza in 2018. So far she has played the Amnesia club room thrice - for Pyramid and Do Not Sleep. With a date scheduled for RESISTANCE as well, you can be sure we'll be hearing more of her functional brand of techno.

CIREZ D | DARE U | Mouseville | 25 June

After waiting for what seemed like an eternity for Eric Prydz to revive his techno alter-ego, we've been lauded with new material every summer since 2016. First came IN THE REDS before last year's THE ACCUSER.

Now CIREZ D is back with his latest dance floor bomb DARE U. This was one of the massive tracks when Coxy and Beyer went back-to-back at Junction 2 festival. We reckon there's a high chance of a reprieve when both men play ONE NIGHT STAND on Monday 2 July.

Maya Jane Coles | Go On and Make It Through | BMG | 22 June

This might not be a peak-time banger, but its more downtempo leaning certainly has a place on our playlist. It's perfect for some mid-afternoon soirees to Playa d'En Bossa when the sun is still beating down, we reckon.

Jay Lumen | The One | Octopus Recordings | 11 June

Jay Lumen is a seriously underrated talent. We can't recall any production of his we haven't loved. This is his latest piece of studio brilliance. Lumen was given the honour of opening Eden's 2018 Ibiza campaign when he spearheaded Terminal 4's Tronic showcase back in May.

Adam Beyer & Bart Skils | Your Mind | Drumcode | 18 June

HEY YOU!” Yeah, you! It's not often we include two releases from the same label in any given month, but we're making an exception here. The eponymously titled track is set to cause combustion across Ibiza's dance floors.

Losing your mind? Already lost it, mate – in no small part thanks to this track. Played at Cocoon and we suspect it'll get rattled out at RESISTANCE, too.

Energy 52 | Café del Mar (Tale Of Us Renaissance Remix) | Renaissance Records | 15 June

Some inclusions just need no explanation. This is one such example. Michael Woods' 1993 trance classic gets a rework for 2018. With Matteo and Carmine moving their Afterlife odyssey into tech and production heavy Hï this summer, this is going to create some proper video moments.

As expected, this was a highlight of their opening party, a proper goosebumps moment. Sure to be heard at Renaissance's Moment Of Ibiza dates, too, it seems that a whole new generation of island visitors are just about to catch the Energy 52-bug.

We will be back next month with our latest round of selections. If that were not enough to satisfy your cravings, why not check-out our designated Spotify playlists, updated regularly throughout the season to reflect what gets played on Ibiza dance floors this summer.
