Ibiza Town - Let there be Light

And lots of it, and in different colours too.

And lots of it, and in different colours too. The Island Commission for the World Heritage site in Ibiza has a cunning plan to bathe anything that doesn’t move in wonderfully coloured ornamental lighting which it is hoped will not only make the city’s monuments and important sites look good, but also attract many more tourists.

The proposed system will cost €5 million if it receives financial approval and will use the most up to date equipment to ensure an ecological use of electricity. A few examples of places that will be swathed in light if the plan goes ahead are the Teatro Pereira, the Vara de Rey and the windmills at Puig des Molins. It all sounds good to us.
