Ibiza’s Emergency Psychologists and Disco Nurses

The emergency services on Ibiza can now call for the help of nine emergency psychologists

The emergency services on Ibiza can now call for the help of nine emergency psychologists when needed. This isn’t to help people who’ve just had an attack of the screaming ad-dabs but to assist people who have been the victims of crime, accidents or family bereavements as a counselling service. It’s a vast improvement on last year when the health authorities couldn’t find any staff to man it.

On a similar note, the health service has looked very favourably on the appointment of a nurse by a well-known disco to be available during its opening hours. With so many people crammed into hot clubs accidents are bound to happen, and the nurse will be able to administer first aid and determine whether hospital treatment is needed. We imagine that many joke dance ailments such as a cracked back, quivered liver and a shaken sacroiliac will need treatment. However, being serious, the most common occurrences are heat stroke, falls during the famous foam parties and of course intoxication.

Naturally the health service is pleased by this development as it keeps the hospitals less crowded for those who are in emergencies for genuine ailments and not self-inflicted damage.
