Or two? Have you ever spent the day on one of Formentera's fabulous (and I don't use that word lightly) beaches and wished you could stay to watch the sun set, eat fresh seafood for dinner and relax in a quiet sea side bar for the rest of the evening?

Unless you're staying there for a few days or have your own launch it's been almost impossible to do. The last ferries of the line leave before 10 pm to return to Ibiza and in high season most hotels, for economic reasons, have a three night minimum stay requirement.

However, things don't always work out as planned, and many hotels have the odd day or two available for overnight accommodation. Wouldn't it be great to tack on a night or two in relaxing Formentera as a coda to a frenetic holiday in big sister island, Ibiza?

A total chill-out experience beside the crystal clear waters, to see the sun going down over Es Vedra, or to just do nothing for 36 hours, so you don't need a week's holiday as soon as you get home!

We combed Spotlight's Formentera accommodation and found days available in these typically simple hotels and apartments; Hostal Maysi, Bungalows Es Pins, Allida Apartments, Hostal Sol i Mar (photo below), Vistamar Apartments and Can Jaume Miquel Apartments.
