Ibiza winter meal deals

The world in 3 courses

Ibiza Town is hosting the fifth edition of its winter restaurant festival, “Patrimoni Gastronòmic”, or Gastronomic Heritage, from this Saturday 23 January. The event runs for almost eight weeks until 23 March and for just €18 you can travel the world in three courses without leaving the town. 15 restaurants are participating and will offer complete set menus for each place they represent. Expect dishes from Ibiza as well as regions of Spain like Galicia and Toledo and countries like Turkey and the USA.

The festival is mainly about promoting the diversity food that Ibiza Town has to offer amongst the world's many noble cuisines. The idea is also that it is reasonably priced and accessible: all menus offer a starter, main and dessert. Even with drinks prices on top, this should be a much more affordable way of experiencing some top restaurants.

Participating restaurants are La Cava (Argentina), La Marea (Cuenca), Mesón El Gallego (Galícia) Sa Nansa, Can Alfredo, Sa Brisa (Ibiza), Peter Pan (Italy), Corxus, Ke Kafé (Morocco), Hard Rock Café Ibiza (New York), El Cigarral (Toledo), Can Mkoreta (Transylvania), S'Ametller (Turkey)

The festival follows successful ones in San Antonio and Santa Eulalia, which took place at the end of last year. With the Ibiza Town version, the council is also promoting the fact that Ibiza is home to UNESCO World Heritage Sites, as are most of the areas and countries represented by the various restaurants.

Whilst Italy has the highest number of these UNESCO sites, Spain is in at number three worldwide, three of which are in Ibiza, so the island really punches above its weight on this. The festival mines a rich seam of food heritage with a nice dash of discovery. What better place to journey through different foods.
